    Yuexin Han is the professor and PhD supervisor in Mineral Processing and dean of College of Resources and Civil Engineering, Northeastern University. He is also working as a deputy head of Mineral Processing Institute in both the Chinese Society for Metals and China Mining Association, and Shenyang CPPCC member.

    His main research areas include effective development and utilization of refractory mineral resources, preparation of Mineral materials. He creatively proposed technologies of “Preconcentration-Suspension Roasting-Magnetic Separation” and “Coal-based Reduction Followed by Magnetic Separation” to utilize the complex refractory iron ores. The preparations of Calcium Sulfate Whisker and Nano Calcium Carbonate developed by Prof. Han have been put into industrial production.

    He has engaged in 3 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 projects of the National Basic Research Program (973 Program), 2 projects of the National High-tech R&D Program of China (863 Program), 2 projects of the National Key Technologies R&D Program of China, and more than 100 latitudinal projects. He is now undertaking 6 projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Science-technology Support Plan Projects, and International S&T Cooperation Program of China.

    Prof. Han has authored or coauthored more than 300 international research papers, published 4 academic books and 1 textbook, held 6 patents for invention, and acquired 6 provincial science and technology awards.

    Teaching & Scientific Research: In education, mainly responsible for the professional courses of undergraduates “Methods on Benefication Research”, postgraduate courses “Dewatering of Materials”, and guide cognition practice of concentrating mill for undergraduate students. At present he had guided over 20 master graduate students.     In recent years, Professor Li as the project leader had undertaken over 30 scientific research projects, such as the national natural science foundation of China’s project “Modified Zeolite Encapsulated Nanometer Magnetic Composite Materials and Its Electromagnetic Response Behavior”, the National 863 plans project “Coal Based-Efficient Separation Technology of Lingyang Iron Ore”, the China geological survey’s project “Efficient and Cleaning Utilization Technology Research on Oolitic Hematite”, the projects from relevant enterprises “Expand Experimentation Study of Suspension Roasting-Magnetic Separation on Preconcentration Tailings From Magnetic Pulley in Yanqianshan” , “Development of Coal Based Reduction-Magnetic Separation Technology for Lingyang Iron Ore”, “Research of Coal Based Reduction Technology for Fine Grained Hematite”, etc. As the main scientific research personnel to participate in international cooperation project “Key Technology of Mineral Processing to Increase Iron Ore Reserves”, enterprise project “Technology Research on Flotation Process for Donganshan Carbonate-Containing Refractory Iron Ore” and so on.

    In The Chinese Journal of Nonferrous Metals, Journal of Northeastern University (Natural Science), Metal Mine, Non-ferrous Mining and Metallurgy and other magazines, Prof Yanjun Li has published more than 20 academic articles. He also has 5 authorized national invention patents.

    Yimin Zhu is graduated from Qinghua University, Beijing, with a B.S in applied chemistry in 1986, works as a professor in School of Resources & Civil Engineering, Northeastern University.  She earned her M.S. in applied chemistry in 1994 and a PhD in Mineral Engineering in 2004 from Northeastern University.  She also worked as a visiting scholar in Department of Chemistry, Denmark University of Technology.

    Her main research fields include Crystal Chemistry, Mineral Materials, and Surface Chemistry. Professor Zhu is a member of the Academic Committee of Powder Engineering, Flotation Committee under Chinese Society for Metals Industry; a member of the Professional Committee of Technical  Petrology, Liaoning Provincial Ceramic Society.

    Her focus of scientific research includes Chemical Principal of Flotation Reagents; Principal and Techniques of Composite Materials Preparation; and Microbial Technology in Mineral Processing. Professor Zhu offers a range of courses to undergraduate and post-graduate students on the Chemical Principal of Flotation Reagents; Crystal Chemistry of Minerals  and Application of Biotechnology in Mineral Processing. In addition, she undertakes over 30 scientific research topics for various sources of funding, including The National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Fund of the State 973 Project. One of her research projects has been awarded the First Prize for Provincial Level Excellence; Of her more than 80 scientific research essays written, 30 have been included into EI, SCIE, and ISPT. 8 patents of state invention have been granted. Her professional publications include, among others, Application of Crystal Chemistry in Mineral Materials (Editor in chief); Application of Biotechnology in Mineral Processing (Editor in chief); and Technological Mineralogy, a teaching textbook designated by the State Committee for Education Guidance (Deputy editor in chief).

    Peng Gao, is currently the deputy dean of the School of Resources and Civil Engineering of Northeastern University. He is selected in the National Youth Talent Project. He also works as the deputy director of the National&Local Joint Engineering Research Center for the Efficient Development and Utilization Technology of Refractory Iron Ore Resources, and the director of the National Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Center. He’s mainly engaged in theoretical and key technology research on the efficient development and utilization of national strategic metal mineral resources, and has achieved a number of scientific research results in the frontier and engineering fields of high-efficiency utilization of lean iron ore, recycling and new methods of grinding of iron-containing solid waste.

    In the past five years, Prof Peng Gao has presided over more than 20 scientific research projects such as the National Key R&D Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Science and Technology Support Plan sub-projects, and the major enterprise development projects. He has published more than 100 academic papers and 3 monographs, and held more than 40 international and national invention patents. As the project leader, he achieved the commercialization of 4 patents with an amount of 10.7 million yuan. And he participated in the commercialization project with an amount of 50.92 million yuan zation as the technical backbone. He has won 1 second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 3 first prizes of provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, and 1 provincial teaching achievement award. He’s selected as a national youth talent by the Ministry of Education, a young top-notch talent in Liaoning Province's "Xing Liao Talents Program", a talent in the "Hundreds and Tens of Thousands of Talents Project" and a "Leading" talent in Shenyang.
